While exploring Sapa you will come across many local women that want to sell you various local goods. Take some time to stop and talk to them. You won't be disappointed. Most of the time they are hard at work while their child is on her back.

I met this married couple while hiking through a rural area in Mai Chau Vietnam. This is where they called home. This make shift ut that leaked water when it rained and was hardly staying together. After I left I couldn't stop thinking about this couple. I really wanted to do something for them to give them a dry place to sleep. So I puled together a great team of locals to build them a new bamboo hut. Check out the blog for the full story.

I crossed paths with this mother a few times while in Mai Chau. She was always all smiles. Here she is with her son on her hip and getting ready to sell a duck that she raised. She had a small duck farm. She was also one of the first locals to volunteer to help me with my volunteer project I pulled together.
